“He wishes not to seem, but to be the best.” [Aeschylus: Seven Against Thebes]

Many people proclaim to be the best. Many go about trumpeting their own horn, speaking of their victories, their trophies, their achievements. Those who do so, are attempting to seem, to be the best.

The best allow their actions speak for themselves. The best often do not trumpet their own horn, they let others do it for them. The best knows when to speak up, and when to stay quiet.

Do not seem to be the best. Be the best.
